Has anyone ever had any dreams relating to the Buffyverse (or even Whedonverse)? I invite you to share them here!

Last night I dreamt that Jenny was being chased by Angelus through the high school. She came across a janitor/groundsman who offered to help. He showed her a can of 'Soul Restorer' (as if it was Miracle-Gro) which she mixed with water and attached to a hosepipe. When Angelus ran past she hosed him down and just like that a newly ensouled Angel stood there, sopping wet.
...I have no idea why I dreamt this. 😵

What about you guys? Funny, scary or just downright weird - anything goes. 🙂

That is an amazing dream!
Currently I'm trying to find a date to an upcoming formal dance and last night Eliza Dushku and Becca Tobin from Glee both wanted to go with me even though they were sophomores and I was a junior. I felt very cool and then woke up knowing exactly why I still don't have a date...

Wow, I have Buffyverse dreams all the time. It's a byproduct of being a fanfic writer; it's usually where I get my ideas. They're rarely crazy or weird, though, since I turn them into readable stories 🙂

However, the rare times do occur where I dream myself into the 'verse, or at least a version of myself that fits into the narrative.

Fool for Buffy

I think I prefer fanfic that's crazy and weird lol
Right after Shells premiered, I dreamt that I was underground with Angel, Illyria, and Spike. We were in a big cave or something. That's all I can recall after so many years...

I have trained myself to go to sleep with a certain scenario in mind & then dream about it......normally the dreams you have just before you wake up. Then I have a limited time to write it all down when I wake up before it all fades & I can no longer remember any of it. Doesn't always work but I've got loads of material that way 🙂

Think that's why most of my Fics turn out to be rambling epics though 😳

I'm exactly the same with having to write shit down. Years ago I woke up with this awesome dream and I knew I had to write it down before I forgot, so I rushed out of bed, got a pen and a pad and just wrote and wrote for five minutes. That turned into the idea for an original story that I plan to actually write someday, lol. But yeah, I usually forget my dreams five minutes after waking, which sucks.

I am so envious of this! 🙂 I have never had a Buffyverse dream and I feel like it would be very helpful for my writing.

Remember to always keep a notepad & pen next to the bed though! Don't want to waste all those lovely ideas.... 🙂

While I haven't trained myself for recreational dreaming, I have for therapeutic purposes. Long story short, I took to using self-hypnosis to "program" a dream in, "play" it, and "program" it some more. Then I'd write the events as if recalling the dream. I think some earlier training in meditation (of trying to stop all thought, primarily focusing on breathing, a mantra, and a timer so one doesn't keep looking at the time) was helpful to this, but I don't know. I was trying to stop my horrible, horrible nightmares, and it worked slowly and surely over the years, and interesting enough it helped me a lot with my waking PTSD (*). The point being, if I could use that to heal up intense psychological trauma, then surely you could adapt such a process to get yourself to dream more about Buffy.

(* For anyone interested in that, the very short summary is that part of my brain was "stuck" in certain incidents of the past in which my personal reality at the time was in force rather than my current, so I could be a helpless kid who could not lock doors behind me, so I'd work on making doors work during self-hypnosis and "rewriting" the nightmare. Any instinctive attempt to fight was doomed in such nightmares, and guns I dreamed of using were useless because those were not part of my reality back when the traumatic events that caused them happened. As the repetitive nightmares changed, I got where I could fight back and that was much less horrible, though still bad.

Interesting enough, I also fought the nightmares of fire in my dream and in my dreams I'm not pyrokinetic, though I can "only do it a few times, so best pace myself" before I have to "recharge" and often linked to brief abilities to fly, so if I "fly to a roof" then that drains my dream-self as if I used a pyrokinetic attack on a monster.

After years of slow improvement, I was in the home stretch and worked to finish them off completely as an empowered adult no longer in peril and haven't had the horrific nightmares I used to have frequently in years, though sometimes I get a pale imitation of one...especially in October when they're at their worse, though I don't recall any this month yet! I always get superstitious about talking about them in October, though...and it seems the bulk of my PTSD has also been overcome, because I "untangled" the memory of the trauma in my mind, and my brain doesn't have to perceive it as I did as a kid.)

Also, Vitamin B12 has worked for more than one person remembering their dreams (the melting tablets work best), though many people then discover just how boring and tedious most of their dreams are!

Wow, that's amazing. I'm so glad you were able to find success with that method. It sounds like it took a lot of dedication and intensely hard work.

Yes, it was difficult, not an overnight thing (and I strangely felt as if my nightmares "fought back, contesting control for my mind," but after I made such progress I was incredibly happy with myself. :-)
I see this is a new thread, so I'll share some Buffy dreams later when they won't just be absorbed into this one.

From repeats...

Last Saturday my waking up dream was viewing a previously planned season 7 before it got changed. It was partially me seeing it on TV as a documentary, part of me being on the set, and part of it being real in the weird way of dreams. There was almost no sign of the Potentials (though at least one was present), and Anya granted Amy's wish that made it so Willow couldn't cast spells (or if she did then it would turn out horrible, I forget) and Amy then took to magically terrorizing them. As a result, they had to get the wishing crystal from Anya and destroy it. Anya was also bitter that Xander was going with a woman who was a former client of hers, the one whose dog got eaten. Xander was finding it refreshing to be with a normal woman with a normal background rather than a demon. But then a doctor being goaded by the First Evil in the form of Maggie Walsh (and wanting to restore his dead wife he'd killed in a drunken rage, and make it so she was strong enough to survive his rages, though he also wanted an army to fight the coming evil as the town was being abandoned) abducted Nancy (as she was in the hospital anyway, and FE/MW commanded him to) and turned her into a demonoid.

Upon waking up I thought at least that would've been more on the Core Four than it had been...

I thought I'd shared others, but going by my searches, I haven't. So here's a brief summary of those I recall offhand:

I did have another season 7 dream in which I was helping make explosives in the kitchen for the Potentials, and Bette and Tina (from The L Word) were helping, with Bette and Tina talking about how they would soon be having a baby in West Hollywood.

A fun one was that vampires attacked a family reunion in Texas so I went to California to get Buffy, but had to settle for Giles. What was fun about it was his seeing normal Texas bugs and plants and saying these were signs of an immanent apocalypse with my telling him, "Naw, it's always been like that." 😀

Giles is often my father in dreams, and that got really interesting when I dreamed I was a kid back in school and my mom was a terrorist (with others) that struck it. Parents were called, and I was talking to Dad about what Mom did and both saying Mom was a little crazy when Giles drove up. I said goodbye to Dad because my real father had shown up and I had to leave with him...

I was a bit worried about a dream the boy I'm helping raise had years ago (shortly after we started watching Buffy together). He dreamed his dad (who died 2 years in a car accident before I became a part of his life, so this would be about 4 years after his dad's death) had come to him as a vampire to take him away. He followed his dad past the kitchen where I was washing dishes, but I was also Buffy. I chased down his dad and dusted him. Then the boy realized he was a vampire as well and woke up with me/Buffy chasing him. Glad that later seemed to just be an odd dream rather than him deeply troubled by the situation.

I don't usually remember my dreams, but I did recently dream about the Buffybot, the Aprilbot and Sartre. It had something to do with love/masochism v's desire/sadism, or so I thought. I think I was just being a Buffybot apologist (I love Buffybot)

shortly after Buffy S7 finale, large amounts of...fun dreams with the Chosen 2.😉
And one that sparked the idea for the FF i wrote a while ago. Continuing where S7 left off to focus on the new bread of Slayers.
-Basically (in said dream) , Scoobies meet up in LA with Angel in AS5 finale. Help them win, found a new base of operations in a castle, and start to recruit and train Slayers to one day seal every Hellmouth on earth. And Illyria went to the middle east to create a neutral queendom for all demons. And of course, i somehow ended up a Watcher and was involved in things that i'm not going to say with my Slayer team. Use your imagination.

I once dreamt of an episode (or maybe a whole season, it's pretty fuzzy) of BtVS with Neil Patrick Harris as the good-ish guy, Nathan Fillion as the bad-ish guy and Michelle Rodriguez as Buffy's sister who was actually God hiding in human form.... My brain probably mixed Dr Horrible, BtVS s07, Firefly (NPH & NF were wearing long brown coats) and SPN.

But, come to think of it, I didn't watch SPN back then...
