Who is your least favourite character from BTVS?

Warren. The easiest question in the "Buffy" part of the "Buffyverse". He's also the only one that popped in my brain. Joss was always a master of making nearly every single character likable in some way, even the villains. You know, 'cept Warren. 😡 An even trickier question might be who's your least favorite character out of the core four? Wait....that's also an easy answer....for me, anways. Sorry Xand. 😛

I just think Joss did a fantastic job of making Warren as unlikable as humanly possible. And I think everyone would probably answer Xander for least favorite out of the core 4. I know I would.

That's what made Willow flaying him alive all the more sweeter. LOL

Actually, Giles is my least favourite of the core four. For me, it is all about the core two ;)
Hating characters is weird. It is much easier to describe the ones you love. Warren is definetly the most horrible person in the entire Buffyverse, yet his character is often rather good. The Killer in Me is a really great epiosde.

I think I am going with Cordelia as Jasmine's vessel. Jasmine herself was quite good, though.

P.S. I really love that passage from Inferno when Dante and Virgil meet all the Dawn haters. Used to give me nightmares.

I never cared for the villains - other than Angelus and Dark Willow - but the popular villains like the Mayor just don't hold my interest and I never cared for them.

Probably done this before. Though overall there are probably worse characters I make a case for Riley from Buffy and Connor from Angel. The reason because they are characters that didn't work for me but were on the show(s) for extended periods. The likes of Scott Hope, Parker, Owen, Warren, Eve were all various degrees of terrible but in most cases had a limited run at least. Warren is another good shout🙂

I hated Cordelia. And she's probably one of the reasons why I don't like Angel that much.

Kennedy grew on me... Like mold. I don't dislike her. I adore Andrew, especially in the comics. Dawnie is a fave of mine in season 7.

I'm indifferent to Warren. He got what was coming and was supposed to be an evil hated character.
But I really don't like Principal Wood. He was pretty stupid when it came to the Spike situation. The vamp who killed your mother no longer exists, Robin. Live with it. And he tells Faith she wasn't that great in bed which pisses me off. And that whole thing where he took Buffy out on a date is mega cringy.
I felt like Wood has Oedipus complex. First asking Buffy on a date (whether or not to just gain her trust as the Slayer) and then going with Faith- the physical resemblance is closer to his mother's, plus the badass attitude. I honestly thought that he wanted to be close to Faith and Buffy because of their Slayerage to remind him of his mother.

Interesting, you don't get many Cordy haters😀 Did you hate her in Buffy too or did it start in Angel?

Loathed her in Buffy. I viewed her as simply being a bully. I felt like she got some karma back after dating Xander- being alienated from her friends. But the romance between her and Xander? A disaster. I view love and hate being passionate emotions and from the moment Xander and Cordy hooked up it was from passion. But the negative kind. Like when people have angry sex, you know?

Her character changed way too much in Angel and it didn't sit right with me.

Disagree on her and Xander. Think there were feelings there from the start and their just were too ashamed to admit to it. Besides there's nothing wrong with a bit fooling about at that age as long as you respect each other🙂 I like their relationship personally.

Agree that they changed her character too much in Angel. In the first two seasons they got the right mix between advancing her, but also making it feel like the old Cordy, but from S3 onwards they butchered her😱

And that's fair enough.
She could be so malicious and down right hurtful. I suppose it balanced out with the Scoobies knowing that most of the time she didn't have two brain cells to rub together. For example when she was trying to flirt with Wesley "I need to study English, and because you're English who better to learn from?" (or words to that effect)

I think you are totally mis-reading the character. She always had smarts and more depth than first appeared. Because of her parents money and her social status she just played up to what was expected of her at first. But later she grew as a character and moved away from that.

I have grown to appreciate most characters I didn't like/enjoy as much at first, Xander and Dawn especially, but Cordelia, and Andrew too. But Kennedy was just terrible and Willow choosing to be with someone like that just seemed odd to me. It was like they felt that her facing her darkness in S6 and integrating it in S7 meant that she would be better served by a relationship with someone who was more abrasive a personality than Oz/Tara, but it just didn't work for me. Kennedy was soooo difficult all the time so it was hard to see why anyone could bear to be around her.

Warren is arguably the most despicable person as he is the most evil/souled character on the show and they didn't look to redeem him at all to us. But he contributed well to the seasons he was in, albeit as a bad guy, Kennedy was just an annoyance.

Yeah you can at least justify Warren as a pretty convincing villain. Its just that he wasn't interesting enough for me to be part of the season BB.

I really dislike Justine in Angel. She just has no personality. She cut Holt's throat and she makes believe to Connor it was Angel.. She is such a bitch !

I don't mind any of the baddies, because they're meant to be hated, so if I hate them they must be doing their job right. So I guess it's Andrew when he became a 'guestage' and is now considered a scooby in the comics. I don't understand how that happened. Obviously I believe in character redemption but Andrew should have been redeemed through a glorious. I hate it that he's still be hanging around and that now he's somehow managed to become a scooby 😡

Sure, but you still have to be interesting and grab the viewer's attention. The reason Spike is such a good baddie is because he has the added charisma and depth. Same with being a good guy/girl. If you just do good things, but have not depth or flaws then you're just going to come across as a bland goodie two shoes😀

Do you mean that the baddies have to be interesting and grab our attention? I'd agree, and I think all the Buffy baddies have done that, though some are better than others. For me Warren and The Mayor are fantastic baddies, because of their depth, and because of their relationships with other. Although Spike is a great character, I never thought of him as a great baddie. Joyce Summers defeated him! Plus he made a pact with the Slayer to save the world (and his lover) How evil could he really be?

Talking of bland goody two shoes, I'm not a big Fred fan. Sorry @Mr Trick, I know you adore her. I just found her irritating to begin with, then quite bland, and now I'm watching season 4, she's flirting with Wes and treating Gunn really badly 🙁
