as I'm on the season 2 re-watch, I wonder what Cordelia (& her Cordettes) were doing off-screen around the time of "School Hard?" (they aren't even seen at the Bronze either where the band Nickel was playing) before the Parent-Teacher Night in which they chaperoned along with Buffy and Willow. (she was only seen making stakes with Buffy and her friends & hid in the utility closet with Willow during the Order's attack) and It's the same episode where Spike & Drusilla arrive reside in the Factory (inhabited by the Order of Aurelius after The Master's death).

she didn't get much screen time for the early part of season 2. (same goes with season 1)

Cordelia wasn't fully committed (as in 100%) to the cause on BtVS. "I would be there myself if I didn't have a leg wax." She still spent a lot of time doing normal teen stuff. She shopped, went to the spa, had cheerleading, etc.

Buffy hosted Parent Teacher night. Willow & Cordelia were there but it was Buffy's Snyder mandatory hosting duty.

You are looking at it the wrong way. With the possible exception of her place in the credits, I see no evidence that Cordelia was ever intended to be a regular part of the gang, and season 2 is basically Season 1, Part 2, until "What's My Line." That was when she became part of the team, and started receiving more dialogue.

Besides praying, of course. Which is strange, Reptile Boy pretty much puts her in the Agnostic camp, at least. But it was a funny moment.

I rekon she had better things to do than a parent teacher night. Her parents probably didn't care either.
