I didn't watch very many of these. I did like some of Six Feet Under. The Gilmore Girls, but no Buffy? Are they serious? That show was beyond annoying lol

So, basically the entire output of HBO, the TV series that AMC of all networks managed to produce, and the quirky sitcoms that nobody watched when they aired? It's a defensible list.

Only change I would make is move Watchmen up the list, since the sheer hubris involved in making a sequel to Watchmen is something that shouldn't be encouraged, nor should setting a a sequel thirty years after the fact.

• 6: Game of Thrones (2011–2019) Seen some of this. Its okay I guess but don't really see the appeal.

• 2: The Wire (2002–2008) Seen some of it, not my thing.
• 1: Breaking Bad (2008–2013) NEVER SEEN IT, but don't think I'd like it.

Bottom line, I tend to prefer shows before about 2005 or so and mostly like genre shows that are well written and have substance. My list would have included Firefly, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Mandalorian, Daredevil, 24, and For All Mankind.

I only started streaming a couple years ago, and I don't have cable, but I haven't even heard of a lot (maybe the majority) of the shows on the list. I did enter my own list of 10 favorite shows, many of which appeared on their list. If you want to add your own top 10, they are planning to compile another "readers' favorites" list.

Shows had to begin airing in 2000 or later. Otherwise, I would have put Buffy on my list!

I think I have seen eleven of those, six of which I have watched in their entirety (can't include BSG in complete because I haven't seen Razor or The Plan) meaning that I have seen every episode that's currently out (in the case of ongoing ones). There are more than a few that I have never even heard of.

There are shows here i chose to avoid, think are vile, think are idiotic, never heard of. A handful that are well made but vile that i regret watching (GoT), a few i think i might watch some day if my schedule clears up.

What remains are

• House (unrealistic but i enjoyed the first cast a lot),
• Scandal (political intrigue fantasy with some great actors, entirely ridiculous at times, disturbing at others)
• Downton Abbey (well made, entertaining, heartbreaking, has an anti working class bias a mile wide),
• BSG (amazing well acted visually stunning, believeable & real feeling, better than original by a long shot, but series ended badly)
• Band of Brothers. (No complaints.)

Really enjoyed Queen's Gambit a lot. Does not belong on a list like this... But it was a very good, entertaining short series.

So much of this list is utter unremitting poorly cleaned tripe.

You could put anything here!

And no Buffy? SERIOUSLY. Who chose?

(Edit) If it had to start after 2000, i suppose neither Buffy nor Angel would qualify. Not sure about L&O SVU

Angel is better than much of this list though i would not have thought it the best of the best, it leaves much of this list far in the rearview.

Heck, basic OTA shows like L&O SVU and the orIginal Criminal Minds have more claim to a place on this list than about half the list.

• Breaking Bad belongs somewhere on the list though i did not see much of it, it was well done and seems to have stood up well.
• Mad Men belongs on the list for being such a well realized vision of its time though i don't like it.
• I hear good things about The Wire though it is likely not my genre.

Many of the comedies are immediately dated and always peurile.
Maybe it should be called:

Top 100 tired, pretentious shows for terminally snobby hipster people who want to seem relevant by being meanspirited and callous.​

I never liked Mad Men or Game of Thrones, tried to get into both, just couldn't. I'm allergic to Jon Hamm, he gives me the creeps, idk why. GOT was basically non-stop violence and sex with political intrigue, which for some people is amazing I guess. I just found it dull and repetitive. If I can't warm up to the characters, bleh.

Actually Buffy is pretty much a 50/50 split. Seasons 1-3 and first half of 4 are 90s. Second half of 4 and 5-7 are 00s. Angel would be closer but even it technically started in the 90s.

Actually Buffy is pretty much a 50/50 split. Seasons 1-3 and first half of 4 are 90s. Second half of 4 and 5-7 are 00s. Angel would be closer but even it technically started in the 90s.

I never liked Mad Men or Game of Thrones, tried to get into both, just couldn't. I'm allergic to Jon Hamm, he gives me the creeps, idk why. GOT was basically non-stop violence and sex with political intrigue, which for some people is amazing I guess. I just found it dull and repetitive. If I can't warm up to the characters, bleh.
