Oh well, the movie Veronkia Decides to Die was made in 2009 but wasn't released in the US until last year. I don't think SMG has done a movie since then, she's just done TV work.

I watched "Jesus Christ Superstar" yesterday, which I always do at this time of year...so I'm giving it a 10, I love the music, I think the way it was filmed was really neat, on location, no sets, just using ruins, and wide screen.

A Movie (1958) 8/10
Experimental filmaker Bruce Conner uses found footage to both celebrate, and subvert classic Hollywood narrative functions. The use of motage also, criques some of the dodgy racial and gender politics of Western films. It is a truly epic, and inventive work.

Jane Wants a Boyfriend - 5.5/10
Being someone that likes romance comedies/dramas, I really did enjoy this movie. First, every actor gives a good performance, it's really a great cast. This is probably Eliza's best performance in years. Cause I didn't really like her role in The Scribbler. Louisa Crouse who plays Jane is very good. I think there are some problems with the direction of the movie. Odd scene cuts and transitions that don't work for me. It's also maybe longer than it needs to be, I think if it just focused on Jane and Jack's growing relationship and her wanting to date, it would be better. There is a lot of Eliza's character and how she has to deal with her sister. Also the ending well, just ends. It's got a good emotional moment but no follow up to that, it just ends. Which I don't like. So I don't think it's a bad movie at all, it just needed to be tighten up a bit. The first half was very engaging but then it loses a bit of steam. I still recommend it.

Whispers in the Dark (1992) 6/10
A pretty standard thriller, which just drags at the start, but then picks up in the middle, but does have some true tension, and decent plot. Some of the characters are bland and throw away, however the likes of Annabella Sciorra, Anthony LaPaglia, and Alan Alda give strong performances. Passable.

I don't want to spoil it but this film plays out pretty much exactly as you think it will, with the addition of some thinly-veiled entry level philosophy. Affleck doesn't stink the place up like some thought he would but we have to sit through Batman's origin story for 750th time. Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League are really shoehorned in and plotholes abound.

And from what I've seen from the clips Essienberg as Luther brings shame to the great names of Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey😱 That hipster is starting to grate on me more with each passing day😉

Red Corner (1997) 3/10
Horribly misjudged thriller with a mis-casted Richard Gere. Not only does it relie on horrible Chinese stereotypes, but it's attempts to explore the politics of the country are trully fimble, and it only hints at any flaws in the American system. The second half of the film turns into a melodramatic relationship study, combined with a cheesy action thriller, which at least provides some laughs😉 Really poor🙁

The final film of cult director Rainer Werner Fassbinder is a surreal, and off kilter look at the encounters of a sailor coming to terms with his sexuality while staying in a French brothel having just killed his drug smuggling partner. Tough to review on the first time around, but it does have a very distinct and odd visually style, and gives some sharp commetary on the process of filmmaking, and storytelling, and how they break down communication and sneer at alterative forms of sexuality. There are some good performances too, mostly from Jeanne Moreau. I guess I would say that because of the film's style at times it did make me struggle through certain bits, and also some of the sexual dialouge, and masculine stereotypes were a bit heavy handed and have dated the film a bit.
