Dont have instagram and it wont let me see without joining ;(
February is turning out to be a horrible month. I was out walking the dog with my sister when she told me the news last night. 🙁
We were both shocked in the sense that Michelle's our generation. Just a few years younger than us.

39 is way too young to die. 😢
I thought a liver transplant was supposed to give you many more years. It's so tragic that she needed one at such a young age and even more so that it didn't work.
My condolances to her family, friends, co-stars and fans. Rest in Peace Michelle.

P.S. I will always remember you as Dawn. Somehow I am glad I don't have my Buffy calendar on the wall this year. It would have been sad looking at your photo all month...

Unfortunately surgery always has risks and potential complications (if that has what has happened), and no matter the age.
Has SMG comment yet ?
She was the one who got her auditioned for the Buffy role. They in effect aged up the Dawn character to 14 (while still writing her as 10) when they brought MT on board

No, but I can imagine the grief she is in. She lost a good friend to cancer last year (Shannen). She and Michelle were really close, and while complications from transplants are common, it's still a shock to lose someone so close, so quick. Especially as I'm sure the new series talk has probably gotten them talking again. Bless them all. 🖤

DeepBlueJoy Who was JDF please?
Jason David Frank. He passed away in the fall of 2022. He portrayed Tommy Oliver on Power Rangers through multiple generations. An icon for mid/elder millenials. While Michelle was our age and grew up with us, JDF/Tommy was the role model we all aspired to be: compassionate and athletic, and a servant for others.

R.I.P Michelle 💔. I didn't know much about the actress apart of her role in BTVS. Never watched Gossip Girl, only seen bits or gifs. I've never ceased to see her as teen Dawn. So weird to think she's dead as she was so young.

Even PETA made a post on Facebook. I didn't know Michelle had two cats. 💔

Dawn was one of a character that I wanted so bad these days to see in the reboot as she's strongly disliked in the fandom as a teenager (S5, S6). Wanted so bad to see Dawn as a mature woman many years later.

Good point. Think as the years went on some of the hate died down, she was so great and that arc is one of the best of the show.
This morning a friend of mine sent me the terrible news. I was barely awake. And I had to read it a second time and I thought, "What? No way, this cannot be. I'm still in shock. Much too young. 39 years is no age, very sad. RIP Michelle.

Me too. I felt stupid but i realize i am grieving her. Like family. I have probably spent more time with the Buffy cast than any of my family. (little sob)
Oh me too, for sure. Between books, comics, rewatches, convention videos, etc. But especially Michelle because I grew up with her. From Nickelodeon through Buffy to her adult roles. I am so gobsmacked.

Very sad news. I didn't follow her career, but I have watched a few of her early movies with my nephews and nieces and they were all very good (watches).
Like anyone, when a friend or family passes, people mourn and feel full of sadness - but we should celebrate her life, her career, her being on this planet for 39 years.
So don't cry (too much), celebrate her as if she was still with us and mark the date of her passing on your calendars because from now on it'll be her day for all of us (Buffy) fans.
