Fanfic Writers on BB?

I know it is a much smaller community than it used to be, but were there ever writing challanges/contests on Buffy Boards? And how many people here actively write/have written in the past? I was thinking it could be fun, either by myself or with a few others, to write short Buffy or Buffy-inspired stories based on prompts, but I wouldn't know where to post these stories since most popular fanfiction sites I have found focus very heavily on ship/romance fics instead of a variety of genres.

I guess that was a very round-about way to ask: what is the best place/your favorite place to find and post Buffy fanfic? And if you write yourself, what kinds of stories do you like to write?

Archive of Our Own has thousands of Buffy fanfics, and there are plenty that are not romance/erotic stories. I post as storiwr if you feel like trying my work. Not all are romantic though some are and those tend to focus on f/f pairings and sometimes polygamy, but some are more action stories.

If you wanted to try prompt challenges here, I’d probably give it a try.

I'm on AO3 and my stuff is there as well as here (same username on AO3). I've got a collection of basically Buffyverse flashfic.

This forum is where fanfic authors, primarily @ILLYRIAN at the moment, post on here.

I am on Twisting the Hellmouth (link is above my sig photo) as well as on AO3. Most of my work is on TtH. Some of the TtH stuff is there (one day i will get it all there) and some non Buffy or non qualifying for TtH is also there. I also have a handful of works on Elysian Fields, but those are all on TtH and/or AO3

I've been writing forever. Started writing fanfic on TtH and have over 1 million words of Buffy related fic.

I've mostly only read on Ao3 in the past, and I've had a good time but just struggled to find gen fics I enjoyed or an audience for them, since the filter system is shipping focused. I'll have to look you up on there though, I honestly read mostly f/f when I go for the romance so I could have read your stuff before!

All my fan fiction stories are on this site. Some stories that I intended to be books failed, i.e. not wanted by a publisher, rather than waste the stories by making it shorter then changing one or more characters names to be suitable for the show. That is the main reason why I have written so many, sometimes a failed attempt at writing a book becomes two or three tales of fan fiction or on occasion even Tales of the Slayer.

Femslashfete on Dreamwidth has a weekly prompt-based femslash writing comm. It's naturally not just Buffy, but can be used for inspiration and stuff posted there can be reposted elsewhere; they just want it posted there first. So it can then be reposted in other comms, on AO3, here or wherever else you want.
