Dollhouse First Time

I just watched the first episode and I am hooked. I put it off, because I thought the Dollhouse was just a brothel.

I totally fell in love with Miss Penn during that phone call. Topher is a little creepy. It is way too easy for him to rationalise what he is doing, especially when Echo catches him working on new girl. Also, he put the memories of a woman with PTSD who killed herself into Echo. Not cool.

Yes I'm so happy you watched!!!
Feel free to share your thoughts here whenever you do!
Yes I loved Miss Penn!
Echo is a complete badass!!!

Wow, we got two newbies in the "Dollhouse"! @PaulParmar1 @WillowFromBuffy keep going, it gets sooo much better. And Topher was definitely an annoying twit at times, but over the course of two seasons, you really get to see how the Dollhouse has affected him, and by the end of the series, you might surprise yourself by rooting for him. But all in good time, my friends. 😀

I'll be very surprised if I end up rooting for Topher haha!
I'm rooting for Echo & Paul Ballard the most so far for sure!

All in good time. Be patient, grasshopper. 😛 Then again, you probably won't be, considering it takes a while for even me to warm up to him. But that's the great thing about Dollhouse in general. These people are honestly working for evil, so it will affect them all in various ways. Adele, Boyd, everyone. There's no black and white with this show, which is why I adore it.

Well I would argue Paul Ballard isn't working for evil!.
At least thus far! Haha.

Living Dead Boy
I'm not saying a word...

Well, the FBI don't really give a s*** about a potential Dollhouse so he's not working for the good guys either!
I just watched the second episode and it is so great. Topher seems very cold, but maybe he is just actively trying to avoid his conscience. "Four brothers. All Republicans." Brilliant. "So far, you are the only one who hasn't disappointed me," is a terrible compliment (which makes sense, because the guy turned out to be a serial killer). The guy talks a lot about fair battle for survival, but he has rigged the game too far in his favour. He is hardly sporting.

I was kinda freaked out by Boyd using Topher's line at the end. Is the Dollhouse getting to him?
keep going, it gets sooo much better.
It is already waaay better than Firefly and AtS. I am really hooked.
Echo using her sexuality so freely & as power is even more female empowerment & I love her for that! Queen Echo!
Huh? I guess it would have been nice to see a woman unabashedly enjoy sex, but she is brainwashed.

Your comments are all true!
I really love the show so far too!
Second to Buffy!
What did you think of Echo being chased by that psycho guy?
& how she killed him?
So badass!

You said it! I exploded with joy when she hit her shoulder at the very end. I predict more gratuitous revenge-violence in the future.

Also Boyd/Echo give me such Giles/Buffy vibes I'm enjoying it so much!
I'm watching Firefly for the first time too & doing a thread but I'm going through that much quicker cause I enjoy Dollhouse more& want it to last haha!

@fauxindigo I'm still waiting for him to get to Belonging and The Attic. Those two episodes damn near validate the entire series for me. I was so affected by those episodes, and The Attic is one of my favorite episodes of television ever. Reminds me of a twisted version of Restless. 😀
Couldn't agree more about The Attic. And the other one I love is The Hollow Men; it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

I need to go back and watch 'The Attic" now! I don't remember it well enough to compare it to Restless!

Well, in this case I am comparing the two very loosely. 😛 Both episodes involves our Scooby Gangs entering the world of dreams, but their main goals are totally different. Overall I prefer Restless, but that doesn't diminish anything from The Attic. Restless was more intimate and dealt with the psyches of our maim heroes, whereas The Attic was literally a horror movie, an thriller, and a think piece all wrapped up in one, with a hell of a Keyser Soze fake out at the end. I love it greatly. 😀

See, I'm a fan of Hollow Men overall, and this is largely due to them being cancelled, but I still wished that it didn't feel so rushed. I mean there was a five year plan for the show, so it makes sense that a certain reveal felt a bit jarring to me. I was like, where did that come from? It was brilliantly acted though, so it was largely saved. I wish I could say the scene but Paul hasn't seen it yet. 😛

Fool for Buffy
Fool for Buffy
I guess since I knew it would be the end as I just watched it last year so I didnt mind the rushness
Although it kind of putters out at the end (imo), Dollhouse is a fantastic, highly underrated series. It's got Whedon's usual witty banter and character camaraderie, all wrapped in a heady sci-fi shell. I love the ethical questions it brings up as well.

Glad to hear someone experiencing it for the first time! It might feel a little slow and meandering at first, but just work your way through to 1.06- Man on the Street. I guarantee you, if you're not hooked by then, you will be after that episode.

I absolutely love it so far. I've only watched the first 2 episodes but that's because I have school keeping me busy but I haven't forgotten about it 🙂

Dollhouse Episode 3 : Stage Fright
So I'm back to the Dollhouse and after a long hiatus cause I was super busy! Time to get back to my precious Echo, sexy Paul Ballard & rest of the cast.

- the girl caught on fire at the concert!!! 🙁
- November is a cute character,
- I love Echo and Sierra as friends
- Echo has a beautiful voice & yay she got the job 😀
- Echo having to flash everyone 😕
- Rayna is a diva lol that's for sure 🙄
- Paul Ballard is so good looking 😉
- The Dollhouse exists! It's not an urban myth!
- Topher still seems cold.
- Victor is a doll too 😱
- the guy backstage! What's he doing? 😕
- Sierra playing Rayna's #1 fan haha.
- What a badass Echo is.
- Victor looks good too. 😛
- I hope Ballard finds more clues to the Dollhouse. Imo the story will get even more interesting when he finds out about it.
- Ballard got shot!!! 😱
- Ballard took out all those guys! Yes!
- Rayna needs a slice of humble pie. Echo is much more then a background singer, she's the main character of this story.
- Rayna wants to be shot on stage to be "free" yikes.
- Go Echo! Glad she saved Rayna!
- Rayna is seriously in need of some help. Echo is giving the right advice and she's ignoring you.
- The psycho Rayna stalker got Sierra as a hostage!
- Echo went off task to save her friend!
- What is the attic ? Hmm.
- I'm glad Adelle is defending Echo.

Another amazing episode for the Dollhouse!

Dollhouse Episode 4 : Gray Hour
- I enjoy that the Dolls have memories of each other and are becoming self aware even though they've been wiped.
- Eliza is gorgeous.
- Ivy is a funny assistant.
- OMG Echo's mind somehow got wiped mid mission.
- Sierra was great this episode
- This episode was okay but the weakest so far but it wasn't terrible. The rest were so great tho it felt underwhelming
