Question Connor/Dawn is it weird?

Is a Connor/Dawn romantic pairing weird to you?

I have shipped Dawn with Xander. Dawn with Jon from Stargate ('mini jack' as some call him), and I've shipped her with Connor. I've never tried to ship Connor with anyone else that I can remember.
 
I don't the think the pairing is weird, I just think its a bit like a dull/predictable. 'And lo, unto the second generation we will have Bangel reborn.' 😛
Also its hard to see a relationship dynamic when the two characters never interact. Chemistry is important.

I'm also not sure what they would have in common apart from age and that their parental figure is basically a superhero.
I can see them bonding like siblings over the actions of their parents and making jokes about how goofy Dad-Angel can be or how fussy and interfering Big-Sister-Buffy can be but the idea of romance never even occurred to me.

Having thought about it a bit I can see how Dawn might interest Connor; he likes a brunette with a feisty personality (like Faith) and normal-S5 Connor has a certain Xander-like goofiness that Dawn might crush on.

Considering I'm not into messed up relationships. I don't want Dawn&Connor being Bangel #2. It is sick and weird. It would be a lot like saying like lets have another Rufus&Lily/Dan&Serena touch to the Buffyverse. I believe that these shows shouldn't be as sick as Gossip Girl.

I am strongly against this idea.
 
How is it sick? They're not related, they're both technically only a few years old, and they didn't grow up being 'as close as siblings'? I honestly don't see the 'sick' part of the pairing.

I do personally think it's a lazy pairing, though - "Oh, their 'parents' (sort of in Buffy's case) were in love? And they're the same age, sorta? Why not pair them up!" Meh.
 
First date: Connor and Cordelia chop up Dawn with a meat cleaver to bring forth the anti-Christ.

I'm not on board.
 
I don't see what they are supposed to share in common. Sometimes it seems the only reason people offer them as a ship in the first place is because people find them both annoying and melodramatic and that they are the youngest people on each show. Beyond that though I don't really see what it is between them that is supposed to be the basis for a relationship.
 
I don’t see why it would be weird. Even if Bangel got back together. Buffy isn’t Dawn’s mom. I know she took over that role eventually, but they didn’t grow up like that and Connor and Dawn didn’t grow up together at all.

Whether they have anything in common is a different story, and I could certainly see it being awkward if the 4 of them were all hanging out together. But in terms of icky or incestuous, I don’t see it at all.
 
It would seem a bit like cut price Bangel

The writers can't allow actual Bangel to be together so they go for Angel's son and Buffy's sister instead.
 
I happen to love this pairing, though I like it better with Angel S5 Connor. And even if Buffy and Angel got together, legal (after AtS S4), Connor isn't related to Angel, so...
Final answer, if Buffy and Angel are together, I don't find it weird unless I think about it too much.
 
It's too pat and too easy. Oh look, here's two kids who had super 'parents' lets get them together. It's a relationship with nothing to say. It's not really that interesting to me, but I can see why some would ship it.

I don't see why not, but it just doesn't sit right with me. It would be worse (in my eyes) if Buffy and Angel were together at the time too, because then they would be sort of half siblings, but apart from that I dont see anything wrong with it, but I'm not a big fan of the idea
 
I don’t think it would be weird, certainly not as weird as Dawn/Xander though which makes me have a very visceral ‘Faith in the mirror’ ‘because it’s wroooong!’ reaction

I do think even Dawn would be thinking ‘what is this guys problem?’though.
 
It wouldn’t be weird for me. They don’t share the same blood, don’t have the same parents, they don’t grew up together etc etc.. actually I have an example in my real life : My
sister ! 5 years ago my dad met a woman, started a relationship with her. My sister is into girls. That woman has a daughter that is also into girls. They have 4 years of age difference. They fell in love and today they still live together. Not my dad with that woman though, but the separation wasn’t because of that, it was because of thousand others problems ^^. Believe me no one in the family found that weird. It was completely natural. Everyone were/are just happy for my stepsister and my sister.
 
No...it's not weird. There's no blood connection. Dawn's Buffy's sister not her daughter so you don't even have a step/sibling relation. British (and by association much European) Royalty's weirder than this: until recently you couldn't swing a cat without hitting a cousin or a second cousin. It's why Tsar Nicholas and George V look like the same person. As long as Dawn and Connor don't share the same face (because I don't like Vincent's), I'm okay.
 
Incest has two parts to it. Close blood relationships passed, neither Dawn nor Connor share a common ancestor. Like, at all. Connor is not closely related to any modern human.

The second is, does it disrupt the existing family structures. I say no. Neither Connor nor Dawn were lovers with either title characters. And neither Buffy nor Angel had a significant role in raising either child. Beyond that, is personal, cultural and familial preference, which is beyond the scope of my inquiry. Although, for a show and a fandom that puts so much emphasis on "chosen family," what is incest, anyways?
 
You have a character who is an embodied ball of green energy and a child of two vampires who most people would not have believed could have existed. No, nothing weird there, except for EVERYTHING! Got either of those in your family? They might snap together like magnets of repel each other to opposite edges of the galaxy but his is weird, weird, WEIRD!
