Yesterday I forgot to keep an eye on the chicken in the oven. I got distracted, and ended up with something that resembled a large, tough football. And that was a five pound chicken! What a waste. Ah well...

Went for a walk, took a different route. Underestimated how long it would be. Forty minutes in, "Well, this might've been a mistake". 🤣

Total time: one hour. Those last twenty minutes, I went at a slightly slower pace!

I try for an hour a day.as i get fitter the distance gets longer anf i enjoy it more. It is quite a challenge getting started. Do it daily and after a while it feels comfortable

At the moment, I'm doing a 30 minute walk every day divided into three minute segments, three minutes slow then three minutes fast. I'm never entirely sure if any of these exercise suggestions you come across work.

The easiest way of starting is just walk a bit and increase it every day.

A bit like HIIT training? Short, intense bursts, followed by more 'normal' exercise levels.

Sounds great!

Actually, varied intensity training - hard/easy and/or fast/slow is a VERY good technique.- it is sustainable and stresses the body in different ways, whixh is a good thing.

The best runners in the world use it.

"Japanese walking" I think I've also heard it called.

I can get zapped of energy pretty quickly. That, and my fitness levels aren't great at the moment! I'm happy for about the 40-45 minute mark. Sometimes a quick 30 minutes if I'm strapped for time.

Better than nothing, right?!

Do you take the same path when you walk or throw in some variation?

I vary the route a bit; alternating the direction of the loop and walking on different sides of one of the roads.
Re: Route variation helps change things up a bit. Don't know about you guys but I also find particular songs (i.e like a pop song with higher BPMs) makes me walk a bit faster, in time to the music.

Anything that makes it easier to exercise is good. Boredom is not our friend.Audiobooks, long phone calls with friends, good music, walks in the park or when fitter, hikes in the park makes it more likely i will enjoy enough to do it again and again.

I don't actually listen to anything. My situational awareness is already appalling enough that I don't want to make it worse, and headphones give me a headache. So I just listen to my brain whirring randomly.

Whatever you can sustain is best. A daily 10 minutes is actually better than one 100 minute that exhausts you for a week. It is regular tjat makes exercise build fitness. Start with what you can do regularly.

I vary location. Actually when weather makes outdoor walking difficult i go walking in walmart or any other big indoor space. I tey not to shop bc that destroys tempo. If it is too hot, wet or cold i find a place to walk or use my old recimbent exercise bike

That's actually a great point about walking in blocks of 10 minutes or so!
At first I thought this might be AI or a skit...but it's actually real. Those poor kids must be so traumatized after witnessing this. 😅
